The Great Name Debate

Picking a name for a child has got to be one of the hardest things to do. I had no idea that it would be so difficult. I guess I just want to be sure to pick the right name. Chris and I have two names that we go back and forth with. The most ironic thing is that both names are my idea. I came up with both names, yet Chris likes one more than the other. I have always wanted to name a child Mya because it is my name all mixed up. Perhaps a little selfish! Then one night about twenty-five weeks into this pregnancy, I woke up in the middle of the night with the name Jadyn Mae. After telling Chris, he liked Jadyn much better than Mya. Well so it goes. We seem to like both names, but which one? Save Mya for another child? But then what if there is never another girl??? Do I take the risk? Hmmm.

Then the other day we were at a wedding reception and there was a little boy named Jaden. When Chris heard that, he said that we couldn't name our baby a boy name so...Who knows! I guess he didn't realize it could be a boy or a girls name. So the great name debate is more with me. Do I name the baby a name I've always wanted or do I go with the name that "came" to me in the middle of the night??? Oh the dilemma!

Just wait until you meet her...hopefully that will help! Logan was supposed to be Garrison until I held him. Then I realized he wasn't my Garrison, so I asked Zac. And then we ended up with Logan. And it fits him just right!

Tough tough decision. I still wonder if Sydney should have been named "Sydney". But the good news is that the baby makes the name rather than the name making the baby. Your baby will be sweet and precious no matter what. But I can totally relate to the dilemma. Jason and I are going through the same thing with baby boy. Good luck. I think both names are cute!
